Hello everybody,
in December 30, my grand-uncle and my grand-aunt(from my father's side) came here to Panama from Venezuela for holidays. Most of the time we went shopping since my grand-uncle and grand-aunt needed several things they lacked in their country(actually the latter is Italian, but she lived in Venezuela for a great amount of time, while my grand-uncle is Venezuelan). Regarding that, they often spoke about their life in Venezuela. They said that several people eat once a day. I never acknowledged if my grand-uncle and grand-aunt did the same; however, I know that the latter buys food when she has the chance, cheap or not. My grand-aunt also complained that the town where she lives, Valera, isn't anymore clean because no one picks up trash now there.
On the other hand, she and her husband visited some places my family wanted them to know, such as a resort in a place called Gamboa and the Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal.
One day, my father's cousin, S., S's daughter M and S's grandson L visited us. I find the former two nice, but I absolutely love L., who is a toddler. He spent the evening running, roaring, eating bretzels and answering no to every question and order. At a certain point, I went to my brother's room, who was programming a Lego robot. A few moments later I realized that L followed me and I saw him impressed by the robot and trying to grab it as it moved. My brother was controlling the Lego robot with a remote control.
This is the Lego robot. You can make it move a do an evil laugh with the remote control.
He's L. Isn't he cute?
In the end, last week they returned to Venezuela. I didn't want them to "go back to hell", but they assuered they were going to be fine. I must admit I had fun with them: I loved their personalities, even though I couldn't always understand their jokes nor their pranks. Luckily, I am in touch with my grand-aunt. The only thing I didn't like during that time was my cold. Oh my God, I often woke up with a sore throat and sneezed during the morning.

Scientific drawing
Hello everyone, before this year ends, I want to talk about my experience with a subject I had during the last semester of this year. It is scientific drawing. For those who don't know, scientific drawing is a scientific artistic discipline whose end is summarizing and representing the information for it to be interpreted by a wide public. Consequently, it is about visual approximation of a scientific concept in a precise, clear and objective way. Scientific drawing can be defined as a discipline that creates a connection between art and science. In fact, this is a powerful tool for scientific communication and it is used frequently by botanists, ecologists, zoologist... etc. to show, for example, the features of a species of plant or animal to distiguish it from another. Since I study biology, this subject's presence in my study plan makes sense, even though it is just an optional subject that has been introduced only this year. To be honest, this is the subject I liked the most
University trips
Hi everyone, during this semester, I had a subject named "Management and Conservation of Natural and Renewable Resources", which was about learning how to conserve natural resources and, more than often, how not to do public or private structures or projects that can harm the environment. My group class had to do some university trips for this subject. The first one was inside the campus, where we visited a place we call "colina"(hill), which is a hilly terrain where there is a building that contains the presindent(dean)'s office and floors where legal processes are held, along with tropical woods and some monuments. There, we saw the fountain, the greek theater, the vegetation in general and a mural on said building. The professor spent the time talking about the bad things we are doing to the environment and how they are affecting us. The second trip was to Panama Canal's locks, specifically the ones of Miraflores and the ones of Agua Clara. In this trip we also visited the Fort San
Recycling contest(not something on DA)
Hi everyone,
I have participated in a recycling contest of my university during April and March. It was awesome , but also very challenging . The contest was about recycling plastic, paper, cardboard, tetrapak and metal cans to then bring all of the garbage to the Biology School of the Faculty on March 17th. The more they weighed, the more points we received. Also, we had to separate the different kinds of plastic and paper. I have formed a team and we called ourselves Redwoods. We were eight and the maximum was ten. We collected the more we could at home. One day we even took a lot of rubbish that was in the university. We seized almost eve
Illness
Hi everybody,
I have been sick since Wednesday. That day I woke up with a sore throat, but I went to University anyway. During morning I sneezed a lot and I could barely pay attention to the Microbiology class. One of my classmates gave me some advice about what I should take, but there was no drugstore in the University . A teacher I ran into told me I could go to the University clinic. I doubted I needed it, but I was worried about the following day's Zoology's exam, so I thought that was my opportunity to get better soon. I had no idea that my problem was more serious than a simple cold. Once I went there, I was seen and my doctor diagnos
